A strategic alliance for Maltese healthcare

Following in the footsteps of the insurance Industry another new concept in strategic partnerships has been noted in the local healthcare scenario

Medea Limited, constituted by three of the leading Maltese Healthcare companies was incorporated and is expected to play a pivotal role in the future evolution of healthcare services in Malta, with international potentials.

The three companies are Associated Equipment Limited, Pharma-Cos Limited, and Technoline Limited - which together have pooled over 66 professional employees into the new company. The synergy sets examples worthy of note especially vis-a'-vis other sectors of the local business, setting a trend that is likely to be followed particularly in view of Malta's EU membership.

The three partners offer a synergy of expertise, core competence and a reputable track record spanning over two decades. Areas of specialisation include Emergency Trauma, Diagnostic Imaging, General Surgery, Anaesthesia and Intensive Care, Interventional Cardiology, Clinical and Industrial Laboratory and Infection Control amongst others.

From the local business perspective this constitutes an interesting combination of partners which whilst remain individually competing within their respective market segments are now pooling altogether into a formidable entity with wider prospects.

When contacted by the press Chairman of Medea, Simon Cusens expressed optimism and underlined Medea's strategy of exporting its core competence in Human Resources. He added that Malta's geographical location coupled with its multidisciplinary team can offer better healthcare solutions than presently available.

Paul Dalli, Director commented "Medea is the way forward for future growth" and fellow director Marcel K. Mifsud described it as "...a day-to-day living experience".

Worth noting is confirmation received from Medea that most of the International Turnkey Integrators bidding for the New Hospital Project in Tal-Qroqq have recognised its value to compliment their forthcoming bidding strategies.
