Maltacom joins scheme to ease pain of IT skills shortage

Maltacom is set to save time and money recruiting IT employees after becoming the first organisation in Malta, and one of just five worldwide, to benefit from the Official NCC Education Employer scheme.

The Official NCC Education Employer scheme is a free global scheme designed to reduce the impact of the global IT skills shortage.

It enables organisations to increase awareness of their vacancies among highly skilled IT students and graduates all over the world.

As an Official NCC Education Employer, Maltacom will now have its vacancies, company profile and company news featured on the NCC Education website to be seen by the thousands of IT students and professionals who visit the site every month.

Maltacom’s Mario Vassallo - Head of the Training and Development Unit – commented, "The IT skills shortage is of major concern to hi-tech organisations like Maltacom. It is important that we are staffed with the most talented IT skilled individuals so that we can continue to develop cutting-edge products and services, but the skills shortage makes this difficult. We have joined NCC Education’s scheme as we recognise that holders of NCC Education qualifications are of a high quality and we want to attract them to our organisation."

Emma Lowther, NCC Education’s Marketing Manager explained why the company has introduced the Official NCC Education Employer Scheme, "With this no-charge scheme we are addressing the IT recruitment problem. It helps organisations to boost awareness of their company culture and their vacancies among potential IT employees. This is important as individuals with IT skills are in high demand and often have a choice of employers.

"Companies with high awareness levels among IT students, graduates and professionals find it easier to recruit IT employees."
