Comtec’s Ronnie Galea wins two international awards for excellence

Ronnie Galea, a Director of Comtec Service Limited – the Maltese based Pest Control Company - beat off strong competition from all over the UK and abroad to win two prestigious awards for his services to pest control.

The awards were presented at a special ceremony held in the UK at the Cambridgeshire based DATAS Training Centre in October and were sponsored by Bell Laboratories Incorporated, an international manufacturer of pest control products and DATAS.

Ronnie Galea won both the Individual Award and the prestigious Professional Pest Controller of the Year Award for 2001. Speaking about the awards, Jim Baker-Smith Managing Director of DATAS said, "We want to reward pest control practitioners for displaying outstanding customer focus; ones that invest in customer needs and excel in delivering top class customer service. This year’s award reflected success in terms of pest control and Ronnie has played a significant role in driving up the standards of pest control throughout the whole island. Looking to the future, when Malta becomes a member of the EU, Ronnie is already adopting and adapting the very best of pest control practices from the UK and continental Europe, to tackle the particular pests prevalent to Malta."

The judges’ comments were, "Ronnie Galea is an example of leadership at its best. Changing culture and confronting the old order take personal commitment and an extraordinary amount of dynamism. Ronnie Galea has these in abundance. The pest control industry needs people who are prepared to go that extra yard to make things happen. Ronnie Galea sums up all that is best in pest control. He is always looking to the future and positively seeking out the best practices to benefit both his business and the occupants and visitors to Malta. Ronnie Galea is the future of pest control. The industry needs more people like him with the confidence to challenge the status quo and the ability to make things happen. He epitomises success in terms of the pest control industry."
