New directors appointed to HSBC Fund management

Joseph J Agius and Michael Whitehead have been appointed Directors of HSBC Fund Management (Malta) Limited. The Company was set up in 1996 and today is the largest fund management company in Malta. It manages and administers a range of domestic and international funds with Assets under Management reaching the EUR620 million mark spread across 40,000 investors. The Company provides innovative investment products which cater for a wide range of personal investors.
Agius has extensive experience in all aspects of fund management. A Bachelor of Science (Financial Services) from the University of Manchester and winner of the Chartered Institute of Bankers’ coveted Beckett Memorial Prize in 1992, he joined Mid-Med Bank Ltd. in 1978. He has worked for HSBC Fund Management (Malta) Ltd since 2000, and is involved in the general management of the company, currently occupying the role of Deputy Head of Fund Management.
Whitehead has been with HSBC since 1999, occupying the posts of Senior Financial Planning Manager with HSBC Bank UK plc and with HSBC Bank International Ltd in Jersey. In 2005 he was appointed Senior Manager of HSBC International Financial Advisers (Malta) Limited which provides offshore financial planning services to both prospective and existing clients based in Continental Europe.
