Tug Malta next in line for privatisation

Tug Malta is the next state company that is up for privatisation, according to Investments Ministry sources who dismissed the sale of Kordin Grain Terminal in the immediate future.
Last Sunday, Kordin Grain Terminal Chairman Charles Demicoli said he believed the government would soon publicise its call to privatise the company.
“As chairman here I have helped the government compile the necessary documents for privatisation, but then I got out of it,” he said. “I know the process is ongoing. I think government will soon make a public call, I think it’s a matter of weeks, not months. I know government is moving ahead, for sure, but it’s not my responsibility.”
But according to ministry sources, the privatisation of Kordin Grain Terminal would start after Tug Malta, which is next in line.
Meanwhile, government will also be focussing on the commercialisation of Enemalta’s fuel division ahead of the liberalisation of the fuel market.
