Radio listener wins ‘job’

Forget cars and cruises, 89.7 Bay has just awarded one of its listeners a prize job with the station.
The winner of the Dream Job competition, is 20-year old Elinor Barbara. She signed the agreement that ties her up with the radio station for a whole month during which 89.7 Bay listeners will listen to her, judge and decide on whether she stays on till the end of the 6-month duration.
Elinor will be earning Lm500 for the first month and could go on to earn Lm3,000 if listeners vote her in.
Elinor will experience the excitement of working alongside Jonathan Abel during his breakfast show. “This is an experience I am looking forward to, it will also be a learning exercise for me,” she said. “I have been working as a nail technician on board Cruise Liners in the Caribbean and the Mediterranean. Life abroad is full of opportunities but never as good as it is in Malta, and, after all, it is Bay, here in Malta that gave me the opportunity of my life!”
Besides working alongside Jonathan Abel, Elinor will read the news, conduct interviews and undertake many more radio-related tasks.
“What more could Bay give out than a Dream Job?,” said station manager Terry Farrugia.
Thanks to Yellow Pages, the listeners themselves stand a chance of winning a fantastic cash prize of Lm1000, made available by Yellow Pages that was represented at the award ceremony by marketing manager Nicky Diacono.
