BOV Euro Changeover Familiarisation Seminarsa

Tumas Group Staff benefit from BOV Expertise

The Euro Changeover process, dual pricing and cash handling were among the subjects discussed during a series of Euro Changeover Familiarization Seminars delivered by Bank of Valletta’s Training and Consultancy Department to the front-line employees of the Tumas Group.
Bank of Valletta is working hand in hand with the National Euro Changeover Committee (NECC) in an effort to create awareness about the Euro and the Euro Changeover process. John Cassar Torregiani, Executive Head responsible for the Euro Changeover Process at BOV remarked that, “The adoption of the Euro is an important milestone for our country, which requires extensive preparation, particularly from the business community. As a leading financial services organization, Bank of Valletta has embarked on an extensive education campaign directed at providing information about the Euro Changeover Process and its implications.”
Bank of Valletta actively seeks to share its expertise and experience in banking and financial services management through customized training projects such as that which was specifically created for the employees of the Tumas Group.
Joseph Zammit, Head of Training at Bank of Valletta stated, “These seminars have helped the employees of Tumas Group to familiarize themselves with the latest Euro Changeover issues and implications. Cash handling, detection of counterfeit notes and acquaintance with Credit and Debit card transactions are essential skills that any front-liner working in the commercial sector needs to acquire,” said Mr. Zammit.
Over the coming months, Bank of Valletta intends to organize various meetings directed at the local business community which will include sessions about the Euro Changeover Process. Similarly, discussions are being held for the general public so as to support the national efforts being undertaken to ensure that the migration to the new currency is as smooth as possible. BOV has also launched a Euro Help Line – 2131 2020, where customers are invited to call with any queries regarding the subject.
