GO flagship store in B’Kara officially inaugurated

The new GO flagship store in Birkirkara was officially inaugurated by Minister for Investments, Industry and Information Technology Dr Austin Gatt, and Minister for Competitiveness and Communications Censu Galea. This flagship store, located in Psaila Street, is unique in Malta, as it is the only outlet which sells all four services offered by GO – fixed line telephony, mobile telephony, broadband Internet and digital television. Apart from selling GO’s quad-play offerings, the outlet accepts also the payment of all bills.
Speaking during the press event, GO Chairman Sonny Portelli said: “This outlet reflects our new personality – contemporary, dynamic, friendly and fresh. We are Malta’s only quad-play provider, and from this place our customers can experience all our services and products. Our new identity truly reflects our objective of converging our businesses from an operational as well as a customer point-of-view.”
GO Chief Executive Officer David Kay said: “The new brand has brought about a new vigour for this company – the employees, customers and shareholders have welcomed it. Now, we have to make sure we live up to our promises and deliver,” he said.
Mr Kay spoke also about the upcoming Trade Fair: “Our customers are to look out for the various trade fair promotional offers that will be announced in the coming hours. These will be attractive and will suit everyone’s needs.”
Minister Austin Gatt praised GO for implementing a series of ambitious changes over the past year: “The rebranding exercise is the visible part of a series of changes that the organisation has gone through, and is still going through, to ensure its long term sustainability. The investment in a new brand, coupled with the continued investment in the networks, technology and the people behind the technology augurs well for GO.”
Minister Censu Galea said the new outlet in Birkirkara is a living demonstration of how organisations like GO have developed their retail strategy: “Apart from the inherent attractiveness of this outlet, the most important aspect is the way the customer is welcomed and provided with the service. I congratulate GO for being one of the first telecoms company to implement such a concept store.”
