60,351 Maltese travelling abroad by catamaran or ferry

The total number of Maltese who travelled abroad by catamaran or ferry last year was 60,351. The month during which the Maltese travelled most was July 2006 with 9,742 passengers.
Between January and June of this year, 25,684 Maltese went abroad by catamaran or ferry, marking an increase of 2,144 Maltese passengers over the same period during the previous year.
February 2006 saw the least Maltese passengers, with just 812 travelling abroad. This year, however, it was the month of January, which saw the least amount of Maltese passengers, with only 669 travellers.
January saw a decrease in accompanied vehicles, with 167 cars going overseas as opposed to last year’s 213 passenger vehicles.
However February, March, April, May and June all saw an increase in passenger cars: February saw a 241 increase, an increase of 293 occurred in March, April saw an increase of 351, an increase of 261 passenger vehicles took place in May and in June there was an increase of 165 cars.
