Two new large format printers by Canon

Canon Europe, leader in digital imaging technology, has launched two new large format printers (LFPs), the imagePROGRAF iPF710 (A0 – 36”) and imagePROGRAF iPF610 (A1 – 24”). Created for the CAD, GIS (geographic imaging systems) and general large format office sectors, the LFPs are the fastest in their class for these markets.
The imagePROGRAF iPF610 is able to deliver a full colour A1 print on plain paper in fast mode in just 33 seconds, while the imagePROGRAF iPF710 can produce an A0-sized output in only 56 seconds. Both machines have HP-GL/2 and RTL compatibility, as well as a HDI driver, which means that they are compatible with leading applications used by GIS and CAD professionals.
Additionally the new LFPs come with Canon’s newly launched printhead warranty. The warranty means that in the rare eventuality that anything should go wrong with a Canon printhead, customers are guaranteed a replacement.
Anne Sharp, European Marketing Manager - LFP, Canon Europe says: “The launch of these two LFPs means that we can increase market share in the CAD and GIS markets. We now have products that are not only the fastest in their class, but are also compatible with industry standards and come with a range of features to create image quality that is second to none.”
To ensure the company continues to uphold its heritage in image quality, the imagePROGRAF iPF710 and iPF610 both have Canon’s FINE (Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) high-precision printhead technology. Capable of creating ink droplets as small as four picolitres in size and with more than 15,000 nozzles, the Canon printhead ensures accuracy and image sharpness and delivers a resolution of 1,200dpi, allowing users to reproduce fine lines and small characters without distortion.
The new LFPs also incorporate Canon’s high-speed LCOA image processor which enables faster and more accurate image processing.
