GlobalCapital p.l.c. shares in the spotlight again

Global Capital Financial Management Ltd - Malta Stock Exchange Review

Yesterday, the Malta Stock Exchange index closed in positive territory as it gained 0.09% to finish the session at 4847.87 points. The advancers of the day were GlobalCapital p.l.c. and GO p.l.c., whereas Bank of Valletta p.l.c. and Plaza Centres p.l.c. traded lower. Meanwhile, HSBC Bank Malta p.l.c. traded flat for the second consecutive time.
The shares of GlobalCapital p.l.c. had another positive performance as the share price gained another 2c0 (Eur0.05) to finish at the Lm1.92 (Eur4.47) level. This equity placed as the heaviest traded stock as 52,400 shares were swapped across eleven transactions. These shares carried a market value of Lm99,534 (Eur231,851.85). The lowest traded price during the session was Lm1.889 (Eur4.40), whereas the highest traded price of the day was Lm1.92 (Eur4.47). Week on week, GlobalCapital p.l.c. advanced a notable 6.67% or 12c0 (Eur0.28) from its closing price of Lm1.80 (Eur4.19) on Tuesday 4th December. The total turnover of the week was very strong as 189,872 shares were swapped across thirty-two trades.
On the telecommunications front, GO p.l.c. was another stock that managed to stay above water. The share price registered a satisfactory 2c0 (Eur0.05) gain to close at Lm1.27 (Eur2.96) across 5,780 shares. These shares were exchanged across five trades. At the end of trading, best unsatisfied bids stood at Lm1.25 (Eur2.91) for 9,238 shares against best offers of 4,180 shares at Lm1.30 (Eur3.03). Week on week, GO p.l.c. lost 2.16% from its closing price of Lm1.298 (Eur3.02) on Tuesday 4th December.
On slim turnover of just 1,000 shares the share price of Bank of Valletta p.l.c. pegged down to lower levels at Lm3.52 (Eur8.20), down 0c4 (Eur0.01). The price shifted in a very tight range of Lm3.502 (Eur8.16) to Lm3.52 (Eur8.20). At the end of trading, best demand for 418 shares stood at Lm3.502 (Eur8.16), whereas the best supply for 11,950 shares stood at Lm3.54 (Eur8.25). The total turnover of the week amounted to 40,692 shares and carried a market value of Lm143,205.55 (Eur333,579.20).
Plaza Centres p.l.c. was the dawdler of the day. On even lower volume the share price tumbled 5c0 (Eur0.12) to terminate the second session of the week at Lm0.68 (Eur1.58). This equity was nearly non-existent as only 600 shares changed hands and exchanged over a single transaction.
On the banking front HSBC Bank Malta p.l.c., the largest capitalization stock on the Malta Stock Exchange’s Official List traded sideways without effecting the previous session close at Lm1.96 (Eur4.57) across 7,175 shares. The total turnover of the week amounted to 51,135 shares and exchanged over twenty-six deals.
In the fixed interest market, a total of Lm360,371 (Eur839,438.62) (14 Deals) were transacted in Government Bonds whilst a total of Lm7,695 (Eur17,924.53) (8 Deals) were transacted in Corporate Bonds.
The turnover value in the Treasury Bill market amounted to Lm34,256 (Eur79,795.02).
