Robert Burns International Foundation honours Corinthia Hotel in Budapest

The Robert Burns International Foundation has been established in Hungary for the last 10 years with the aim of raising funds to help sick and underprivileged children in Hungary and Central Europe. The Corinthia Hotel Budapest (Grand Hotel Royal) has supported their initiatives over the years by hosting the Burns Night each year as part of the fund raising activities.
This year marked the first year the foundation decided to present an award to an organisation that most supported its efforts and the Corinthia Hotel Budapest was selected for this prestigious honour.
The patron of the Robert Burns International Foundation, Sir Alex Ferguson, Manager of Manchester United Football Club, proudly presented the ‘Ferenc Puskás’ trophy to Adrian Ellis, General Manager of Corinthia Hotel Budapest, on the football pitch at Old Trafford in front of 75,000 fans. The trophy will be placed in the lobby area of the Hotel with pictures and an appropriate plaque. This was a unique occasion and a very special moment both for the foundation and for the Corinthia Hotel Budapest.
The Burns Night traditionally attracts around 300 guests and has been one of the most successful ways of raising funds attracting donations from charity and auction prizes along with considerable sponsorship.
