Nexia International to hold Young Managers Course in Malta

Nexia International, the worldwide network of independent accounting and consulting firms will be holding a course in Malta in the beginning of September for young managers from the various member firms throughout the world. The course will focus on cross-border working and will enable participants to learn about their own management styles and to then put these into practice through a mixture of role plays and case studies.
Training and education is seen as a crucial element for the quality of the network and the Nexia secretariat devotes considerable time and energy to ensure that all member firms and their staff have accessible sources of information and possibilities of training programmes to enable them to progress in their careers and improve the quality and technical knowledge within the respective firms. These courses are aimed at providing high-quality learning development for the top people within all member firms.
Brian Tonna & Co. the Maltese member firm of Nexia International have been entrusted with the organisation of the course. This is the first event to be organised by the Maltese member firm and an application has already been presented to the Board of Nexia to host the 2010 World Conference in Malta. Brian Tonna, the managing partner of the firm has invited various speakers to give their views on how local entrepreneurs have found support and advice from other Nexia International member firms in expanding and managing their businesses internationally. Speakers will also be giving presentations on doing business in Malta. A social programme has also been prepared intended to give the participants a flavour of Maltese culture and traditions.
Following Nexia International’s merger with SC International in 2007, Brian Tonna & Co. was the first firm to be accepted as member in the newly merged network. Nexia International now boasts 620 offices in 97 countries providing 2,195 partners and 17,872 professional staff – indicating the international pool of skills, resources and expertise that its members are able to access in meeting the increasingly diverse and challenging international requirements of their clients.
The rationale behind bringing the two organisations together was reinforced by the latest International Accounting Bulletin World Survey which now ranks Nexia 8th amongst the major global accounting networks with declared revenues of US$2.3bn.
