GO supports Istrina with over €35,000 worth of cash, prizes and services

As has been the case over the last years, GO has pledged its full support towards l-Istrina. In fact, the company has committed over €35,000 in prizes, cash donation and services in aid of Istrina 2008.
In total GO donated more than €14,000 worth of prizes comprising all four communication services, such as the Home Pack service, BlackBerry smartphones, mobile phones and much more. In addition, GO sponsored two of the cars which were raffled during the show. GO’s cash donation - amounting to €5,000 - included proceeds from a Christmas event for employees held recently.
“This time of the year is very special for GO as we focus some of our efforts on meeting our important social responsibilities. Throughout the year GO supports a range of worthy events aimed at enhancing the quality of life for the society in which we operate. These events span a wide spectrum of community experience and include philanthropic, social, environmental, cultural and sporting events. L-Istrina is by far the major initiative we have invested in over the years,” said Franco Aloisio, GO’s Senior Manager Communications.
“L-Istrina tops the list of GO’s Corporate Social Responsibility programme. lt is evident that this event is not just any other fund-raising event. L-Istrina is the annual event which raises awareness on a national scale about people who are in need and who need a helping hand,” he went on.
As main sponsor of l-Istrina 2008, GO provided the entire communication infrastructure for the donation lines and other services for free at MonteKristo Estates.
Once again, GO will be waiving all call charges for Istrina phone-in donations. Based on last year’s proceeds, GO recently donated to l-Istrina a total of €32,000 worth of call charges.
