Actavis announces 2009 plans

As per customary procedure, Actavis Malta today organised its 2009 yearly kick off meeting for all its employees. During this type of meeting, employees were presented with the overall global company direction as well as key challenges and achievements. During this session, all Actavis Malta employees were presented with an assessment of the Company’s key performance data over the preceding twelve months as well as an overview of the Malta facility’s key 2009 objectives, main projects and areas of focus. The meeting, with the title of Operation Orange, detailed how the Actavis Group and particularly Actavis Malta are well positioned to meet the challenges of the future.
Over the course of this meeting, the Company announced that its current Managing Director, Mr Sergio Vella, will be taking on a six month assignment in leading the Actavis Nerviano facility in Italy, following which he would be returning to resume his former role in Malta. During his absence, Mr Franco Gatt, currently Supply Chain Divisional Manager of the Actavis Malta facility, will be taking on the role of Acting Managing Director for the local operations.
Actavis is one of the world’s leading players in the development, manufacture, and sale of first-class generic pharmaceuticals. Founded in 1956, the Company has led an assertive program of expansion, making more than 20 acquisitions in the past seven years while maintaining strong organic growth. The Group has approximately 11,000 employees operating in about 40 countries around the globe. Actavis’ headquarters are in Iceland. Actavis Malta is a subsidiary of the Actavis Group and the Maltese operation alone boasts a workforce of more than 500 highly skilled employees.
