Correction

Economic recovery

With reference to veteran economist Karm Farrugia (“If I had to walk in Tonio’s shoes…” interview, Business Today, 28 October 2009, there are the following corrections:
(a) In the concluding sentence in the reply to question 6 on COLA: “So anybody who wants to like productivity to COLA is wrong”, the word “like” should have read “link” instead.
(b)In the sentence in the reply to question 8 on the Budget deficit: “By a Minister or a Government who didn’t believe that the recession was not going to affect us”, the word “not” should have been omitted.
(c)Finally, in the reply to the final question on the bold decisions that the Finance Minister will have to take to improve Malta’s budgetary situation, the concluding sentence: “I think that we should make it during the last quarter of 2009, and the first quarter of 2010” should have read 2010 and 2011.
Apologies for the errors and any inconvenience is regretted.
