The newly launched Excellence in Construction Awards (XCA) is set to advance Malta’s construction industry by recognising achievements in quality, innovation, and sustainability. Supported by the Ministry for Justice and Reform of the Construction Sector, this awards programme is now accepting registrations, aiming to drive transformative change across the industry. With a mission to advance construction excellence nationwide, the XCA gives contractors a platform to celebrate their work, raise standards, and contribute to a better future for both the sector and the community.

An opportunity for recognition and advancement

For contractors of all sizes, the XCA offers a unique chance to showcase accomplishments, gain exposure, and stand out in a rapidly evolving market. With 12 categories, the awards celebrate achievements spanning sustainable construction, innovation, craftsmanship, and workforce development.

Making an impact and inspiring the sector

The XCA is part of a broader effort to shape the future of construction in Malta. The initiative encourages professionals to innovate and adopt the highest standards of quality and practices, ultimately benefiting their businesses, the environment, and society as a whole.

Dr Nathan Vella, QP Civil & Structural Engineer, representing the CSR partner leading the initiative, shares: “Navigating the evolving construction industry means embracing quality, sustainability, and innovation as fundamental principles. The Excellence in Construction Awards is our way of recognising those at the forefront of this evolution, setting new standards and reshaping how we build. It’s an initiative aimed not just at celebrating today’s achievements but inspiring a future committed to excellence, community impact, and environmental stewardship.”

The awards culminate in a gala ceremony on 22nd February 2025, hosted by Keith Demicoli, where leaders will gather to celebrate achievements and foster connections.
