Clearflow plus announces major expansion of WSC’s solar farm rollout under Green Bonds framework
Clearflow Plus has announced a significant milestone in the implementation of Malta’s pioneering Green Bonds programme

Clearflow Plus has announced a significant milestone in the implementation of Malta’s pioneering Green Bonds programme.
Following strategic and operational efficiencies, the Water Services Corporation (WSC) — the Guarantor of the €25 million Bond issued by Clearflow Plus — will be expanding its solar farm rollout by an additional 7,000 square metres, delivering a potential increased capacity of 1,400 kWp. This expansion is being achieved without exceeding the original €6 million allocation earmarked for solar projects under the €25 million Green Bonds issuance, as set out in the Prospectus dated 20 July 2023.
The company said this achievement enables WSC to generate greater clean energy capacity within its original investment envelope, further enhancing its contribution to Malta’s ongoing clean energy transition and long-term climate objectives, as outlined in the European Union’s Green Deal and the drive towards climate neutrality.
Futhermore, by delivering more value from the same investment, Clearflow Plus and WSC are reaffirming their shared commitment to sustainability, operational innovation, and transparent progress under the Green Bond Framework.
In parallel with this expansion, WSC recently commissioned four new photovoltaic farms at key locations: Luqa, Ċirkewwa, Pembroke, and Bulebel, underlining its leadership in renewable energy deployment within the national water sector.
To promote public transparency, WSC has also launched an innovative online Green Bonds Monitoring Tool, accessible at https://www.clearflowplus.com/bi, where the public can track updates on projects financed through Malta’s first Green Bonds issuance.
These initiatives place WSC and Clearflow Plus at the forefront of environmental innovation and green financing in Malta, delivering tangible progress toward national and EU climate targets.
