Acting governor of the Central Bank of Malta, Alexander Demarco, joined global central banking leaders at the 2025 ECB Forum in Sintra, Portugal, to discuss macroeconomic shifts and policy responses amid a changing global economic landscape

The acting governor of the Central Bank of Malta, Alexander Demarco, participated in the ECB Forum on Central Banking, an annual event organised by the European Central Bank and held in Sintra, Portugal, from 30 June to 2 July 2025.
The theme of the 2025 Forum was “Adapting to Change: Macroeconomic Shifts and Policy Responses”.
The event brought together leading figures in central banking, including senior officials, academics, economists, and selected media representatives, to discuss emerging macroeconomic challenges and the evolving policy landscape.
Demarco’s participation reflected the Central Bank of Malta’s ongoing commitment to engaging with international counterparts on critical issues affecting monetary policy and financial stability.
