Free for all as retailers deviate from fixed Euro exchange rate

The Central Bank may have set the Lira-Euro exchange rate at a fixed level upon entering ERMII but retail outlets are still not obliged to convert prices to Euro utilising the Bank’s rate, The Malta Financial and Business Times has learned.

European Parliament votes on working time directive today

The European Parliament will today vote on a revised working time directive, with the controversial ‘opt-out’ clause expected to be scrapped, that is, the right for workers and employers to opt out of the maximum 48-hour week and work beyond the limit.
