EuroBridge Shipping Services appoints Robert Cassar as first CEO
Robert Cassar has been appointed EuroBridge Shipping Service's first CEO, as managing director David Abela steps down after 21 years at the helm of the company

EuroBridge Shipping Services Limited has announced the appointment of Robert Cassar as its first CEO, a position the company has introduced as it continues on its positive path of growth.
Cassar joined EuroBridge in June 2021 and has been going through a handover process prior to taking the reins over fully.
Managing director David Abela will be stepping down after 21 years at the helm of the company, but will remain active in business development as a consultant to the business. EuroBridge will continue to tap into Abela’s wealth of experience and knowledge in the sector.
The company said in a statement that Cassar’s experience and drive make him an ideal fit for EuroBridge for its next stages of growth. “The EuroBridge team warmly welcomes Robert and augurs further harmonious growth and improvement under his leadership,” the statement read.
Cassar started his career at one of the major international telecommunications companies with marketing, corporate business development and sales roles in the commercial department as well as experience in managing their supply chain.
He then moved to the local postal service provider to lead the business relations and international relations teams, spearheading the organisation’s growth in eCommerce, while handling relationships with both domestic and international business customers.
Cassar received his MBA degree from Anglia Ruskin University (ARU, Cambridge) and is the recipient of several awards during his career. He is also a visiting lecturer and mentor at a number of colleges and universities at MBA and MSc level.
Abela said that EuroBridge is going through a healthy growth phase, increasing the number of customers, employees, and suppliers.
“I am thrilled that Robert joined EuroBridge as CEO. He has a customer-centric approach to running the business, which is at the core of EuroBridge’s values,” Abela said. “I’m sure he will take EuroBridge to the next level.”
