OKEx, one of the world’s largest spot and futures digital asset exchanges, will host the first-ever Malta Tech Week in partnership with Delta Summit, the official platform for blockchain innovation events in Malta, happening 30 September to 4 October, 2019.

During Malta Tech Week, OKEx will host a hackathon at the University of Malta to engage with the local community. Students and programmers are invited to register for the hackathon on 1 October for a chance to win up to 0.5 BTC for challenges including vulnerability management.

Delta Summit will gather global blockchain industry leaders, including OKEx, to discuss the future of digital assets and to highlight Malta’s efforts to embrace blockchain technology on a global scale. Malta Tech Week will also explore the future of Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things while providing the opportunity for thought leaders, investors, and businesses to network and build meaningful connections.

“We are excited to be back at DELTA Summit and to co-host the first Malta Tech Week. Malta is home to OKEx, and we’re committed to supporting the blockchain community on the island and beyond, ” said Andy Cheung, Head of Operations of OKEx.

“Globally, the blockchain ecosystem is growing at a rapid pace. Malta Tech Week will provide an opportunity to foster connections both new and old with industry experts and advocates.”

Joining OKEx at Delta Summit will be Enzo Villani, Head of International Strategy and Innovation. Enzo’s primary role is to help OKEx bridge the gap between traditional financial markets and the cryptocurrency markets.

As more and more institutional investors and enterprise leaders enter the blockchain ecosystem and financial inclusion expands, cryptocurrency exchanges hold an important role.

Enzo will speak at Delta Summit on 3 October on “The Next Phase of Digital Asset Exchanges.” This talk will address how legacy exchanges and crypto exchanges can both work to usher in a new era of blockchain adoption while serving the needs of an evolving global economy.

“Blockchain technology has already impacted banking and finance around the world, and the next decade will usher in a new era for innovation in this sector,” Villani said. “Industry leaders like OKEx are creating the tools needed for digital assets to help define our financial futures.”

Headquartered in Malta, OKEx is a top-tier digital asset exchange offering more than 400 token and futures trading pairs to millions of customers in 150+ countries. OKEx offers the most diverse trading products in the market, ranging from spot trading, fiat-to-token trading, margin trading, and crypto derivatives.
